What happens after I submit my application?

After submitting your application for tax-exempt status, you will receive an acknowledgement notice,
which means the IRS has received your application.
 If additional information is needed, the case will be assigned to an
Exempt Organizations specialist who will contact you if necessary.


Has my application been assigned to a specialist?

Applications submitted after the postmark date in the chart below have not yet been assigned to an
 Exempt Organizations specialist. Keep checking IRS web page for updates and await IRS contact. There is no need to call.

What to expect after submitting

IRS Process

1. Once submitted to IRS it will take two weeks or more to get in the IRS system for customer service representatives feedback to client.

2. Between, 90-180 days to be assigned to an IRS agent. After IRS review and make a determination you will receive in the mail the 501c3.

3. 501c3 will not be posted on IRS website for a minimum of one year.
